About Us

Partnering for equitable education, building bridges to academic success.

DesertRose Consultants LLC  is a dedicated organization that specializes in offering culturally responsive resources to enhance academic enrichment and promote equitable educational practices. Our primary goal is to serve as a strategic partner, working hand in hand with schools, organizations, and communities to advance their missions of providing young people across the United States and around the globe with a world-class education.

Our Story

Our programs align with the mission of the US Department of Education, which is to provide a comprehensive and well-rounded education. According to Section 8002 of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), a well-rounded education encompasses a wide range of subjects and activities. This includes English, reading or language arts, writing, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, foreign languages, civics and government, economics, arts, history, geography, computer science, music, career and technical education, health, physical education, and any other subject that the State or local agency deems necessary to offer students an enriched curriculum and educational experience. Our programs embrace this holistic approach, ensuring that students have access to a diverse and engaging educational journey.

Our Mission

Our mission  is to advocate for and promote the integration of culturally responsive materials into curriculum development across all subject areas. To achieve this, we offer culturally responsive academic enrichment programs and provide professional training. Our approach includes advocating for equitable educational practices through culturally responsive training, which encompasses cultural competency training and relevant pedagogy designed to address the specific needs of students and families.

According to a study, "Native language and culture is a critical part of Indian education, yet many students report only having some knowledge of their own culture" (Ninneman, Deaton, & Francis-Begay, 2017).

According to the NIES Study, only 28% of 4th-grade students and 43% of 8th-grade students attending BIE schools reported knowing a lot about their heritage.
